Heading to Hopkins today for my third liver TACE. Hopefully this is my last TACE for awhile!! I have been having a lot of abdominal pain and fatigue recently so hopefully a break from these procedures will give my body time to recover. Doctors also increased my Sandostatin dose to near maximum to help with my symptoms. Now I have to get two giant needles in my rear every month instead of one!!!! Ouch!!!! On a fun note, Natalie is completely standing on her own now and trying to step!!! I can't believe I might have a child under a year walking!!! I will be knocked down for about two weeks after this so you might not hear from me for a little while. Keep hope and have a good week! Love, K
Been a tough few weeks!! Neither Dan nor I have had the energy to stay up and write after getting the kids down!! My secondTACE procedure really knocked me down. Three weeks later, I am still recovering and gaining my energy back though each day is better and brighter. I am concentrating on getting stronger for my next TACE on March 31st. After this last treatment, hopefully I am done with TACE procedures for a long time!!!! I don't know if they are done with me but i'm done with them!!! After my final liver treatment, we will again have to start addressing the cancer in my lungs and the "systemic" picture. I'm not exactly sure how this will occur but I'm pretty sure it will involve more poison mixed with some radiation. Kinda like groundhog day. In the meantime, enjoy the new pictures I posted, hug your loved ones, and keep my family in your prayers :) K |
